Your privacy on the Internet is of utmost importance to the GSOO. This privacy statement describes GSOO's policy concerning the gathering and sharing of visitors' information through the GSOO web site. It applies to all "GSOO sites" - that is, all sites within the "GSOO.org" domain name.


What information does GSOO collect?
Normal web site usage
In general, you can browse the GSOO site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. The only information we gather during general browsing is from standard server logs. These include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, and information such as the web site that referred you to us, the files you download, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits.


Collection of personally identifiable information

If you provide feedback, via the contact form, you will be asked to provide personal information such as your name, postal address and e-mail address.
This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission and is kept in various GSOO databases and mailing lists in order to contact you. These details are transferred to a secure file hosted outside GSOO website.
Joining electronic discussion groups may mean that other participants of the discussion group (including non-GSOO employees) will see personal information that you have volunteered. For open discussion groups, this information will be public.


What does GSOO do with the information it collects?
Normal web site usage
The information gathered during general browsing of the "GSOO.org" domain is used to analyze trends and usage of the GSOO site and to improve the usefulness of the site. It is not connected with any personal information.


Personally identifiable information
GSOO may use the personal information you provide to:

• "Remember" your online profile and preferences;
• Help you quickly find information that is relevant to you based on your interests, and help us create site content most relevant to you;

Providing personal information on the GSOO site is optional. If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still browse and use the GSOO site.


Opting out and changing your information
At any time, you can cancel or modify your information by returning to the web page where you first provided the information and contacting the focal point for that page/GSOO department.


Security
We do not sell or share any personally identifiable information volunteered on the GSOO site to any third party. Any information provided to GSOO by users of the GSOO site is held with the utmost care and security, and will not be used in ways other than as set forth in this privacy policy, or in any site-specific policies, or in ways to which you have explicitly consented. The GSOO site contains links to sites external to the GSOO.org domain. GSOO is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites.

Safeguards will be built our systems from the earliest stage of development and privacy-friendly default settings will be the norm. The privacy notice, as seen above, explains our lawful basis for processing the data. We have conducted a privacy impact assessment (PIA) to ensure that privacy risks have been properly considered and addressed.
Data transfers outside the EU
We have put recognised procedures and safeguarding measures in place to secure, encrypt and maintain the integrity of any personal data that is stored outside the EU. Diligence checks are carried out to ensure that such countries / data centers have the necessary safeguards in place, provide enforceable data subject rights and offer effective legal remedies for data subjects where applicable.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, the people affected will be informed as soon as possible.
